About Junior Chef Academy
The students who participate in our program help break the cycle of food insecurity by bringing the knowledge of working with fresh food back to their families. This work enables them to utilize food-accessibility resources more efficiently, which reduces their dependency on overly processed food sources.
In addition to the initial impact, these chef academy skills translate to job skills and can aid in upward economic mobility. Our program acts as a stepping stone to programs like Culinary Job Training at Second Helpings or a secondary education in a culinary program.
